Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated: August 3, 2026

OtterPilot is committed to giving you full control over your personal data. This page explains how to request the deletion of your data from our platform, and what happens when you do.

These instructions satisfy Meta's platform requirement that apps accessing user data must provide a clear data deletion mechanism.

What Data We Hold

When you use OtterPilot, we may store the following types of data:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your hashed password (if you registered with email)
  • Your Meta user ID and encrypted access tokens
  • Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts you have connected
  • Posts, messages, and ad data retrieved via the Meta Graph API
  • Usage logs and analytics related to your activity in OtterPilot

How to Delete Your Data

You have two options to request deletion of your data:

Option 1 — Delete via Account Settings (Recommended)

Log in to your OtterPilot account and navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Confirming the deletion will:

  • Immediately revoke all active sessions
  • Permanently delete your profile, connected accounts, and all associated data
  • Remove stored access tokens for all connected Meta accounts
  • Queue any remaining backups for deletion within 30 days

Option 2 — Submit a Deletion Request by Email

If you are unable to access your account, send an email to privacy@ottercybertech.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:

  • The email address associated with your OtterPilot account
  • Your Meta User ID (optional, helps us find your data faster)
  • A brief description of what data you want deleted

We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

Revoking Meta Access Without Deleting Your Account

If you only want to disconnect OtterPilot from your Facebook or Instagram account without deleting your OtterPilot account entirely, you can:

Note: Revoking API access through Facebook will prevent OtterPilot from accessing new data, but will not automatically delete data already stored in OtterPilot. To remove stored data, use one of the deletion options above.

What Is Not Deleted

Deletion of your OtterPilot account removes your personal data from our active systems. However, we may retain:

  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to you
  • Records required by law (e.g., billing records, legal obligations)
  • Data that has been archived in backups — these are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle

Data Deletion Callback (Meta)

OtterPilot supports Meta's Data Deletion Request Callback. When a user removes the app from their Facebook account, Meta sends a signed deletion request to our servers. Upon receiving this callback, we automatically initiate deletion of all data associated with that Meta user ID.

You can verify your deletion request status by contacting us at privacy@ottercybertech.com with your confirmation code or Meta User ID.
